Even though I still have not visited nor started on my geography report and I am pretty much screwed for the physics test, no harm doing stuff that I liked. Baking today was totally a last minute decision this morning, because usually I would have like planned one week ahead of time. Settled on vanilla cupcakes because since I didn't crave for chocolate (surprisingly).
Recipe from: http://www.laurainthekitchen.com/all/episode.php?episodenumber=61
You'll need:
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 milk
- 1 1/3 cups of all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
/a>salt
1. Preheat oven to 175 degree celcius.
2. Cream butter and sugar together! Since I did this by hand it was rather difficult, just make sure butter is softened to room temperature to make your life easier.
3. Add the eggs and vanilla and continue mixing.
4. Sift in flour, salt and baking powder. Usually I don't bother sifting but last time I baked a choclate cake there were lumps of flour so I learnt my lesson.
5. Gradually pour in the milk. Stop mixing once you don't see any traces of flour. Might want to switch from a whisk to a spatula to avoid over mixing.
6. Pour the batter into muffin tin with paper lining. Fill to about 3/4 full.

Don't worry if it looks weird here haha, it will level in the oven. And I know I used a weird bowl here but oh well.
7. Into the oven for 18-20 minutes.

Mine baked for 18 minutes. Check with a toothpick inserted in the centre of the cupcake at the 17th mark. If it comes out clean, it is done. You don't want to eat chao da ones so check.

Fresh from the oven!
8. Cool cupcakes for about 20 minutes.
This whole process requires lots of waiting so I play diamond dash and played with photobooth for a bit while waiting LOL.

If I had a symmetrical face.

Trying to look scary but my nostrils looks disturbing.

Alienfied.

Creepy smiling alien.

This looks horrible.

I bet if people see these photos and don't know me they're going to be scared LOL.
Ok back to the cupcakes. You can make your own frosting like chocolate or cream cheese or vanilla or almond or coconut or peanut butter or mint or raspberry or blueberry or whatsoever.
I chose to put peanut butter, take note, NOT peanut butter frosting because I was lazy haha. But the consistency was super sticky so it was hard to frost. Only put a very thin layer or the flavour will overpower the vanilla.

Frosted cupcakes! If you noticed 1 is missing because I ate it.

Goes well with milo whee.
Now I have to think about what to do with my homework LOL. Toodles.

This past week has been absolutely crazy. With all the tests and events, i definitely need a good break. I have been going back to school for the past 7 days and probably will be continuously going to 14-15 days omg. I haven't even had a good sleep so far. :(
Couldn't remember what happened on Monday, handover on Tuesday, which is probably the biggest turning point in my entire life. I didn't really mind at first, but as Zhaoying started talking to me it feels as if everything crashed into me. But now I have sorted out my feelings and I'll try my best. :D and probably not turn so red when speaking in front of everyone so easily. :(
Wednesday was a happy short day, thursday had the PF test - which we later found out it stood for productive failure. o_o meh it seems like they gave different teaching approaches to both our class and 3C, and want to know which one is better. I'm like wth but oh well the whole topic is pretty interesting. :D Inheritance is really fun.
Friday was tests x2 day. SCS was okay but math was horrible. Oh well at least it's over. No point dwelling on it. :) then we had CCA and it ended early. It was really chaotic during the moving of instruments. :( gah everything was so inefficient and I should have hurried people. Sigh. Lots of room for improvement.
At night we went to HCCO's concert. Man the school was huge, but didn't bother taking photographs. Had a difficult time finding the correct auditorium. Their CO's intonation was really good. (Y) but I believe this is not to their best standard. Went home really late. I think we spent at least 1 hour waiting for either the bus or the train. The school is so inaccessible, no mrt or shopping malls within walking distance. I feel lucky to be in RV. :D
Then this weekend was mostly spent on practising for the CIP this morning. Gah it was extremely screwed. :( hope we can do better next time. But I seriously love and enjoy all the time spent with RVCO ensemble. All the people are so fun to be with and hilarious. :') I don't even mind waking up early for them. Thanks to them it made my weekend so enjoyable.
Tomorrow's Monday. :( and we have to be in school early to practice for the aylc dance sigh. Hope it'll be fun. :D
